Austin Lynch Named General Manager of the Mauldin Mayo’s Inaugural Season
The Mauldin Mayo’s are proud to announce the hiring of Austin Lynch as the organization’s General Manager ahead of the team’s inaugural collegiate summer baseball season.
Lynch joins the Mayo’s as the franchise prepares to launch its first season in Mauldin, bringing extensive experience as a coach at the high school, collegiate, and summer league levels, along with a deep passion for player development and community-centered baseball.
“There is a lot to be excited about,” Lynch said. “Mauldin has never had a college summer team before, so being part of the inaugural season is incredibly special. Some of my best experiences in baseball have come from coaching summer wood bat teams, those environments build competition, development, and lifelong friendships.”
The Mauldin Mayo’s will look to establish themselves not only as a competitive team on the field, but also as a strong community presence off the field. Lynch emphasized the importance of culture, connection, and fan experience as foundational pillars of the organization.
“People can expect a team that represents the community with pride,” Lynch said. “We want to play an exciting brand of baseball that is competitive, but also fun to watch. More than anything, fans can expect a family-friendly atmosphere where players are active in the community and serve as positive role models.”
In addition to his on-field baseball background, Lynch brings front office ambition and academic preparation to his new role. He recently earned a Master’s Degree in Athletic Administration as part of his long-term goal of transitioning into sports leadership and organizational management.
“I’ve always been on the field as a coach, but I’ve wanted to move into the front office long-term,” Lynch said. “Returning to school and earning my Master’s helped prepare me for this step. Building something new in Mauldin makes this opportunity even more meaningful.”
Lynch’s baseball journey includes coaching experience at both the Division I and Division II collegiate levels, as well as leadership roles in summer collegiate baseball. He previously served as head coach of the Lenoir Oilers in the Carolina-Virginia League and as an assistant coach with the Spartanburg Blue Eagles in the Southern Collegiate League.
“Baseball has always been close to my heart,” Lynch added. “I grew up a huge Braves fan, played through college, and knew I wanted to stay in the game. Coaching has given me that opportunity, and now I’m excited for this next chapter.”
The Mauldin Mayo’s inaugural season marks a major milestone for the community, and Lynch is eager to help shape the identity of the franchise from the ground up.
“With a name like the Mauldin Mayo’s, you already have something fun and unique,” Lynch said. “And with Dukes Mayonnaise right down the road, it just adds to the excitement. We’re ready to build something special.”
